The curious Incident of the dog in the night time-Mark Haddon — July 4, 2015

The curious Incident of the dog in the night time-Mark Haddon

curiousincident

Just now completed the book, cant suppress the desire to write my opinion on this.

Story: A fifteen year old Christopher has an IQ of the size of an African bush elephant, he loves dogs more than humans, there is nothing he can’t understand in maths and science but human expressions and their sarcastic, playful words are always an enigmatic puzzle which he can never solve. One day he came to saw a dead body of his neighbors dog, i makes him sad, not only that wellington(dog) is dead but also the fact that killer is on the loose.so he decides to catch the killer, crafting himself as a detective.

Writing style: The first person narration makes it very interesting and simple to comprehend even for the children. The usage of fancy and dictionary words are very rare.It can be considered as a simple read.

Overview: The author makes us to travel into the mind of a true genius, we will see the way he thinks , his perspective towards the world are equally fascinating and horrifying. But this book was never deprived of exquisite human emotions, we can feel the unconditional love of parents (even though our protagonist can’t) and friendship. We can’t say that this literature is beautiful but it is audacious. The author never showed any reluctance to expose his view on the unintelligent side of the human mind, he directly criticized many traits of humans as lazy and foolishness(which may be true).

Final verdict: This is one of the best children book in the market, but it can entertain teens altogether. This book makes us love maths (its not a joke), there is also one difficult maths problem at the end of the book. This is definitely a simply read which can be completed with one sitting but demands to read it again.

Atticus finch — July 3, 2015

Atticus finch

(“If you just learn a single trick, Scout, you’ll get along a lot better with all kinds of folks. You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view… Until you climb inside of his skin and walk around in it.-Atticus finch”)

Atticus Finch is one of my favorite character in the literature world. He is a fictional character from the Harper lee’s award winning novel “To kill a Mockingbird” (1960) in which he is a lawyer who represents a “black”man in a fictional Maycomb county, Alabama.

.atticus-finch1

“Atticus is just a fictional character” “Atticus is just a creation from the mind of Harper lee” these are the bitter truths that saddens me deeply whenever i think about him, but i don’t care if he is a fiction, in my world he is more alive and real than anything. His wise words rings in my ears everyday, his undaunted courage, and unprejudiced opinions makes him a legend.

(“The one thing that doesn’t abide by majority rule is a person’s conscience.”-Atticus finch)

If there is any word in any language to represent Atticus then it will be the most sophisticated language in the universe, but sadly there isn’t. Even millions of words are not enough, it requires illuminated eyes to see his path. We can learn so much from him, the temerity he showed when the whole world is against him because of the decision he took to represent the black man. The undaunted confidence even in the worst of times. He believed “his” rules, he fought to his life for what he believed is right.

He respected Justice but not enough to elude the real justice by leaving a man who is enduring the unbearable inequity the world casting on him. He knows he can’t win it, he knows he doesn’t have the power to change the world, but that doesn’t stop him from doing what he wanted to do. His endeavors are not for winning, he does it for himself, to satisfy his righteous soul.

(“You just hold your head high and keep those fists down. No matter what anybody says to you, don’t you let ‘em get your goat. Try fighting with your head for a change.”-Atticus finch)

He is the strongest person i have ever seen, he proved that fighting with brain is better than fighting with muscles. Even when is humiliated by Bob Ewell (jerk) in the middle of the street, he just pitied him.“Jem, see if you can stand in Bob Ewell’s shoes a minute. I destroyed his last shred of credibility at that trial, if he had any to begin with. The man had to have some kind of comeback, his kind always does. So if spitting in my face and threatening me saved Mayella Ewell one extra beating, that’s something I’ll gladly take. He had to take it out on somebody and I’d rather it be me than that houseful of children out there. You understand?” this converse with his son jim proves that. He can wear the skin of his worst enemy, think like him and understand his problem, what more do you expect from a human?.

“This time we aren’t fighting the Yankees, we’re fighting our friends. But remember this, no matter how bitter things get, they’re still our friends and this is still our home.”

His way of seeing things is enlightening, his treats his children like adults and respects them. He never lies to his children, even for the most embarrassed question, he answers in most understandable way possible.

“I wanted you to see what real courage is, instead of getting the idea that courage is a man with a gun in his hand. It’s when you know you’re licked before you begin but you begin anyway and you see it through no matter what. You rarely win, but sometimes you do.”

He can’t fly, cant beat 10 members simultaneously, cant’t save the mankind from the deadly virus that destroys all the humanity, he wont work for the S.H.I.E.L.D but still he is my favorite hero.

We were liars – Book review

WeWereLiars__140612011956-575x883

I have to warn you before reading this review that this book is not an ordinary YA book which is filled with a lots of teenage drama, expected twists and a relishing ending that will make us think that life is so beautiful. If that’s what you want then immediately stop reading this review and save yourself some time.

This 240 pages book written by E. Lockhart is a host for several awards including Amazon best YA book of the month and also best YA fiction in goodreads choice awards. This book deserves each and every one of them.

The story revolves around a girl name Cadence who is visiting her wealthy grandfathers house for her summer holidays like she did every summer, and also to meet her friends and the local boy. If i reveal the story too much then i will be the most cruel person in the world which i’m not. The unreliable first person narration make the book more addicting.

You will occasionally encounter a disconcerting narration that seems at first literal, but is in fact magical realism. For example, when Cady Sinclair Eastman, the 15-year-old narrator of the book, is recounting her parents’ divorce, she describes her father packing his things into his Mercedes. Then you read this: “Then he pulled out a handgun and shot me in the chest. I was standing on the lawn and I fell. The bullet hole opened wide and my heart rolled out of my rib cage and down into a flower bed. Blood gushed rhythmically from my open wound,
then from my eyes,
my ears,
my mouth.
It tasted like salt and failure. The bright red shame of being unloved soaked the grass in front of our house, the bricks of the path, the steps to the porch. My heart spasmed among the peonies like a trout.
Mummy snapped. She said to get hold of myself.” at first we may think that the scene actually happened which is not, it is just a poetic description of how devastated the narrator has become.

This books captured the most precious of the human emotions, it has friendship, family , love and most importantly it has “LIES”, the lies which are so bold and more beautiful than the truth. The Author can be considered as a genius in writing a story like this, this book may not be perfect (if we ever define perfect) but this will leave you with a tearful eyes and wrenching heart.

Finally, though this book mainly concentrates towards the YA audience it still has the potential to entertain the adult readers too who likes a good mystery story with genuine twists.

The Kite Runner-Book review — June 30, 2015

The Kite Runner-Book review

the-kite-runner-featured

I would never forget the second hand book store at the end of the busy street which always seems like it never had any customers to buy books rather than to sell, because it gave me one of the best literature in this earth. There are billions of books in the past and will have trillions in the future but “The Kite Runner” will have its lofty place among them.

This 371 pages book written by Khaled Hosseini is a fiction book which concentrates on the relation between two friends, Amir who is the son of wealthy businessman and Hassan who is the son of his fathers servant, this book depicts the human emotions with rare delicacy and with sublime writing that demands to be felt profoundly.

Afghanistan breathes alive in this book, we can see it through the eyes of our protagonist Amir. We will be left with a feeling that comes with a long enlightening journey. My favorite character “Baba” with  his righteous decisions ,dauntless and audacious behavior actions will make an acute impression on us.

Finally i would recommend everyone who likes some strong mature characters with bold writing and heart wrenching story line.
